Scary Crispie Spiders

    Total cooking time: 145 minutes.

Servings: 10-12

You will need:
  • 80g Rice Crispies
  • 200g Dark Chocolate
  • 5 Fruit Bowl Peelers, each cut into half and peeled into 96 individual strands. Retain leftover strands
  • 2 packs of Fruit Bowl Fruitflakes (any flavour)
  • 1-2 bags of Fruit Bowl Yogurt coated fruit flakes
Instructions
  1. Line 2 baking trays with greaseproof paper.
  2. Mix the rice crispies with the fruit flakes.
  3. Melt 200g of the chocolate in a small heat proof bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water (be careful not to let the base of the bowl touch the water), stirring frequently with a wooden spoon until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Remove the bowl from the heat and pour the chocolate over the rice crispie and fruit flakes, gently stirring with a wooden spoon until evenly coated.
  5. Spoon balls of approx. 7cm onto the prepared baking tray of the and press the centre of each with the back of a spoon. Leave to set a little whilst you make the eyes.
  6. With the remaining peeler strands, cut them, crossways, into 3mm rounds.
  7. For the eyes: Dab a little water onto the end of one of the rounds and then attach to a yogurt flake. Repeat to make 24 eyes.
  8. Insert 8 of the peeler strands to each ball to form the spider ‘legs’ and press 2 of the ‘eyes’ into the top half of the ball.
  9. Place in the fridge and chill for 2 hours, or until completely set.
